Description

  • The fundamentals of art are color, line, shape, form and texture. Discussing these fundamentals during an art activity are a perfect way to build vocabulary.
  • When children create art or look at it, they begin to understand and identify composition, balance, symmetry, and patterns, all of which are important math skills.
  • Creating and looking at art can influence a child's intellectual, emotional and social development. Your child's artwork can speak volumes about what they are thinking and feeling.
  • Children understand or create symbols in art. These symbols are the beginning of reading skills and provides a way for a child to tell a story.
  • Art provides children the opportunity to strengthen their small motor skills which will help them with writing.
  • Color mixing, observing art, exploring art materials, cause effect pictures, and much more encourage scientific processes.
